TASS: WADA Executive Committee will start its meeting on RUSADA prior to end of experts work in Moscow.
MOSCOW, January 1.\TASS\ The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Executive Committee will start its meeting on the RUSADA status, prior to end of experts work in Moscow laboratory, as it was reported to the Russian News Agency TASS by the WADA press services.
The Compliance Review Committee (CRC), which will meet on January 14-15, should make a recommendation to the WADA Executive Committee, which on January 22, will decide whether to maintain the current status of RUSADA, which has been reinstated with the condition that the Russian authorities will provide access to the base data verification doping samples of athletes for 2011-2015, which is stored in the Moscow laboratory.
"The team is still in the laboratory and retrieves the data, the work is not finished. The Compliance Review Committee will hold its meetings on Monday and Tuesday and consider all available information," said WADA.
On Thursday, Pavel Kolobkov, Russian Federation Minister of Spot, said that WADA experts, who arrived on Wednesday, began work on obtaining data from the Moscow laboratory.
On September 20, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) decided to reinstate the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) as compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code (Code), the status of compliance was lost by RUSADA in 2015.
The main condition for reinstatement was the provision by the Russian side, until December 31, 2018, the access to doping test data of Russian athletes stored in a Moscow laboratory and sealed in connection with a federal investigation.
In November and December, WADA experts visited the Moscow laboratory twice, but could not extract the database, because their equipment did not pass certification in accordance with Russian legislation. Since the Russian side did not provide a database until December 31, the Heads of the anti-doping agencies of 16 countries were in favor of re-dismissing RUSADA, which threatens Russian athletes from participation in international competitions.
