Today on March 6, 2014 at the Paralympic Village in Sochi the Ceremony of Russian National Flag raising took place. The Ceremony was attended by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin attended the ceremony. He wished best of luck to all the participants pointing out that, Paralympic athletes are shining example to people all over the world, with or without health restrictions, he also told the participants that million people all over the world are sitting in front of their television sets, watching them compete and thinking “ Can I do it ?” and thanked all the athletes for making this happen. After warm greeting from Head of the State the Russian National Anthem was played while the Flag was hoisted.
After that, the Chef de Mission of the Russian National Paralympic Team at Games , the first vice President of the Russian National Paralympic Committee Pavel Rozhkov presented the memorable souvenir from the Russian National Paralympic Team to the Mayor of the Paralympic Village Sergey , who in return presented the Team with the Russian national gift – samovar.
The XI Winter Paralympic Games are being attended by more than 600 athletes from over 40 countries of the world. The Russian Delegation consists of 197 persons.
