Vera Muratova and Anastasia Mamadamirova took 1st and 2nd places in the first online competition in Para Powerlifting.

Representatives of the Vladimir Region Vera Muratova and Anastasia Mamadamirova took 1st and 2nd places in the first online competition in Para Powerlifting.

In total, 17 men and 8 women from 11 countries took part in the tournament.

After successfully hosting the first online competition, “Raise The Bar Together,” to motivate athletes to keep practicing without leaving their home, World Para Powerlifting (WPPO) re – structured the competition into a series of World Cups to give athletes a better chance of competing online!

The next competition will be held from May 11 to 24. The results will be published on June 2.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and its constant influence on the schedule of international competitions, this format will be offered to athletes as an opportunity, with pleasure, to demonstrate their results, receive feedback wherever they are, and get a rating of online competitions. The competition is unofficial, and does not provide an opportunity to improve the ranking for selection for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020 or for any other Para Powerlifting competitions and does not provide the opportunity to achieve a minimum qualification standard.
