25 September 2023
In the period from May 16 to September 22, 2023 the Russian Paralympic Committee trained 23 coaches and specialists in Para powerlifting on an additional professional educational program - professional development program "Training of athletes in powerlifting sports of persons with disabilities" (PC Program).

The course participants included representatives of 17 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Leading specialists, doctors of sciences in the field of physical culture and sports, experts of the Russian Federation of Sports of Persons with Physical Impairments, as well as coaches of the sports team of Russia in Para powerlifting took part in the implementation of advanced training programs of the RPC, including Dmitry Krasilnikov, senior coach of the sports team of Russia in powerlifting of sports of persons with disabilities.

The training was held in part-time form with the use of distance learning technologies. The duration of the course was 72 hours.

The PC program consisted of three sections: basic module, special module and practical classes.

Classes of the basic module included online lectures on the history, organization, normative-legal regulation of Paralympic sport, as well as on the peculiarities of classification, anti-doping and scientific and methodological support of Paralympic athletes.

Practical training under the PC Program was held in the period from September 19 to 22, 2023 in Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk region) on the basis of MBOU DO SSH "Victoria" (14 Vladimir Vysotsky St., Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk region) within the framework of the Russian Cup in powerlifting for persons with disabilities in 2023.

During the lecture and practical sessions of the special module were considered:

- Classification of athletes in powerlifting sports of persons with ODA defects

- Modern system of sports reserve training in Paralympic powerlifting

- Training time in Paralympic powerlifting

- Competition process in Paralympic powerlifting

- Rules for Paralympic powerlifting competitions

- Material and technical support of Paralympic powerlifting

The trainees noted that they liked the fact that the lecture sessions were held online and the practical sessions were held in the framework of competitions. Such a course structure allowed to listen to the lecture material attentively on-the-job and, in the future, to see its implementation directly in the atmosphere of competitions.

At the end of the training, the students who successfully mastered the program and passed the final certification were issued Certificates of Professional Development.

RPC educational activities are conducted on the basis of the license for educational activities №037666 dated July 08, 2016, issued by the Department of Education of Moscow to the Russian Paralympic Committee.
