RUSSIA STAYS SECOND AFTER DAY 3 OF PARA-POWERLIFTING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AS TAMARA PODPALNAYA TAKES BRONZE
World Championships in para-powerlifting are taking place in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) from July 12 to 20.
On the 3rd day, Russian athlete Tamara Podpalnaya from Kazakhstan took third place in U55 kg weight category.
After 3 days, Russian team has 2 gold (stellar performance by Vladimir Balynets in U49 kg and Vladimir Krivulya in U54 kg) and 1 bronze medal. Tatyana’s result made Russia standing second solely, since Egypt has one less bronze medal.
China, with 2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals, confidently leads the medal count.
On July 16, Dmitri Apanasevich (Bryansk Oblast, U72 kg), Heda Berieva (Kemerovo Oblast, U67 kg) and Alexander Belov (Yugra, U80 kg) will compete for medals.
