Sochi hosts Continental Cup Para Ice Hockey

In Sochi (Krasnodar Krai), the ice hockey arena of the Volosozhar and Trankov Training Center in the Olympic Park launched the Continental Ice Hockey Sledge Cup, held by the Continental Hockey League, the Russian Paralympic Committee and the Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairment with the participation of the Ministry of Sports Russia.

The official opening ceremony was attended by RPC Secretary General, Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairment, 5-time Paralympic Champion Andrey Strokin, Vice-President of the Continental Hockey League for Hockey Operations Georgiy Kobylyansky, the Minister of Sports of the Krasnodar Krai Andrei Markov.

In the first game of the tournament, Team Russia-2 played with the Slovak national team. In a bitter struggle with a 1-0 win, Russian sledge hockey players won. At the end of the third period, Igor Maletsky scored the only goal.

Team Russia-1 and the German national team took part in the official opening match. With a huge advantage, the Russian national team won. The final score of the match 9: 0.
