The Russian National Team took the second place at the IBCA European Championship in Chess.

Romania hosted the IBCA European Championship in Chess among athletes with visual impairments.

The competition was attended by 15 teams from 13 European countries.

The Russian team was represented in the following list: Stanislav Babarykin, Yuriy Meshkov, Eugeniy Suslov, Ruslan Draganov – the main roster and reserve player – Aleksey Komissarov.

The tournament was held according to the “Swiss” system in 9 rounds.

Our team won 8 rounds and lost only 1 round to its main competitors, the strong team Poland-2.

As a result, both of this teams scored 16 points out of 18 possible, but as the result of the personal meeting, the Polish team took the first place, the Russian team took the second place, and the third place took the National Team of Ukraine.
