The Russian Paralympic Committee expresses its sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues in connection with the passing away of Lev Nikolayevich Seleznev - Honoured Worker of Physical Culture and Sport, Honoured Coach of Russia. We were deeply saddened to learn about it.
It is sad to realise that our colleague and like-minded person, whose professionalism and life position helped the Russian Paralympic movement to become the strongest in the world, has passed away.
Lev Seleznev devoted his entire life to sport. In 1999 he co-founded the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairment and leaded it for a long time. The successes of Russian athletes with physical impairments in the international sports arena are firmly linked to his name.
His departure is an irretrievable loss for the entire sports community. We deeply mourn together with you. The bright memory of Lev Seleznev will forever remain in our hearts.
