TASS: RFU AND RUSSIAN PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE SIGNED COOPERATION AGREEMENT
MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. Maxim Mitrofanov, Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFU), and Pavel Rozhkov, President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC), signed a cooperation agreement between the two organizations. The procedure took place on Friday at the Football House in Moscow, a TASS correspondent reports.
The signing of the agreement took place on the eve of the first meeting of the newly formed Committee of Social Responsibility of the RFU. Denis Novozhenov, vice-president of Evraz Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works joint-stock company, became the chairman of the committee, and Pavel Rozhkov and deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, first deputy chairman of the committee on physical culture and sports Dmitry Pirog became his deputies.
“The RFU includes five football federations for people with disabilities,” Mitrofanov said after the meeting, answering a question from TASS about whether it is planned to sign such agreements with other organizations. “The agreement with the Paralympic Committee is a landmark document that allows you to systematize work, use their expertise and experience to take football for people with disabilities to the next level."
“The Committee for Sustainable Development was created in July 2022, it did not exist before,” the Secretary General of the RFU emphasized. “It is called upon to communicate through football various social issues not only in the field of competitions, but those related to the environment, migration issues, protection children's rights and so on. There are about 11 blocks of issues that the committee is focused on. The very fact of its creation suggests that this agenda is important for the RFU."
The RFU Social Responsibility Committee also included President of the Russian Premier League Alexander Alaev, Head of the Project Office for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility of the RFU, former captain of the Russian national team Alexei Smertin, Olympic champion in 2004 in the 800 meters Yuri Borzakovsky, Chairman of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled Mikhail Terentev, director of sustainable development of Sibur Holding Maxim Remchugov and others.
