RPC HELD AN ANTI-DOPING SEMINAR FOR MEDICAL PERSONNEL OF RUSSIAN SPORTS TEAMS FOR PARALYMPIC SPORTS

On 2 November 2022 the Russian Paralympic Committee held Anti-Doping Seminar for the medical personnel (physicians, masseurs, psychologists) of the Russian National Paralympic sports teams through video conference mode.

Medical specialists, representatives of all All-Russian sport federations, developing Paralympic sports - sports for persons with physical impairments, Blind sport, Para-Taekwondo, Wheelchair Curling and Cerebral Palsy, took part in the Seminar.

Secretary General of the Russian Paralympic Committee, President of the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persosn with Physical Impairments, Honored Master of Sport of Russia, 5-times champion of Paralympic Games, Andrey Strokin addressed to the participants of the seminar with a welcoming speech.

The seminar was chaired by Guzel Idrisova M.D., Director of Paralympic Education, Science, Anti-Doping and Medical Provision of the RPC Staff, Head of the RPC Commission of Medicine, Anti-Doping and Classification of Athletes and member of the International Paralympic Committee Medical Committee.

During the seminar participants discussed in detail the questions concerning the WADA Prohibited List, the order and rules of application for therapeutic use of prohibited substances and methods in sport, the risks of using dietary supplements, types of anti-doping rule violations, the responsibility of athletes and athlete personnel, and other issues of anti-doping support for athletes of the Russian Paralympic teams.
