Avtandil Baramidze, head coach of Russian national team, summarized the game:

«Canadian team is not a bad team. We showed some good soccer without stress. On July 11th we are facing Netherlands. I suppose, they are the strongest in our group. We want to thank relatives and friends of the players, our fans and everyone who supports us. We sincerely appreciate your support”.

World Championship already surprised everyone with a sensational loss of Iran, one of the most expected teams to win the tournament, to United States of America in Group C.
